A doctor has warned of the dangers of alcohol during magnetic storms

Alcohol can intensify the negative effects of magnetic storms on the body, especially for people who are sensitive to weather changes, Andrey Tyazhelnikov, MD, told the Moscow City News Agency.

According to the specialist, alcoholic beverages aggravate the body's response to geomagnetic fluctuations. "Alcohol, as a rule, worsens health and aggravates symptoms in people sensitive to weather changes," Tyazhelnikov emphasized, reminding that the idea that there is no safe dose of alcohol has a medical basis.

The doctor explained that alcohol has a strong effect on the vascular system. "Alcoholic drinks first widen the blood vessels, then make them narrow sharply, which increases the heart rate," he noted. Dehydration, which often accompanies alcohol consumption, also creates additional stress.
