Trump confirmed retaliatory actions against ISIS in Syria

US President Donald Trump announced that the US troops launched a large-scale retaliatory attack on the positions of the "Islamic State" terrorist group in Syria.

"I ordered a massive attack on the terrorists who killed our three great patriots last week. Two soldiers and one translator, wonderful people. And the strike was very successful," he told supporters in North Carolina on Friday, noting the precise hits on each target.

On December 19, The New York Times (NYT), citing sources, reported that the US military began conducting airstrikes against ISIS positions in Syria.

According to the newspaper, American fighter jets and military helicopters took part in the operation, which hit dozens of ISIS targets, including weapons depots.
