The decision of the EU was a significant victory. Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on his Telegram channel that the decision by the leaders of the European Union (EU) to provide Ukraine with an interest-free loan of 90 billion euros is a "significant victory".

"This is a strengthening for us. This is a signal to the Russians that there is no point in continuing to fight, because we are supported financially, which means that we will not surrender on the front line. We will support our army and our people," the head of Ukraine wrote.

On December 19, European Council President Antonio Costa announced after a summit in Brussels that the EU would provide Ukraine with a €90 billion loan based on the Union's budget, which Kiev could repay with frozen Russian assets. He noted that this money will be used to cover the urgent financial needs of the country in 2026 and 2027.
