The police consistently continues measures to prevent whitefish hunting from Lake Sevan during the prohibited period and to detect cases of illegal hunting. Another case of illegal hunting was discovered by water patrols on December 18.
On the Yerevan-Sevan-Dilijan road, the water patrols stopped an "Opel" car loaded with whitefish for inspection purposes.
The 42-year-old driver, a resident of Sevan city, along with the car, was taken to the Sevan Community Police Department. Regarding the 102 kg of whitefish in the car, he said that he bought it from an unknown citizen in the Vardenis community. The prepared documents were handed over to the preliminary investigation body.
