Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will visit Moscow on December 17, where he and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are scheduled to hold talks, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"On December 17, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will leave for Moscow on a working visit. His talks with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are planned," the message says.
The heads of the foreign policy departments intend to discuss in detail current international issues, including the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program, as well as exchange opinions on regional issues of mutual interest.
Special attention will be paid to "current issues of the traditionally tight bilateral agenda of Russian-Iranian relations, which after the entry into force of the new interstate agreement on October 2, 2025, have reached a qualitatively new level of comprehensive strategic partnership."
