China successfully launched two spacecraft into orbit using the Kuizhou-11 solid-fuel launch vehicle on Saturday, the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) said.
The launch took place on Saturday at 9:08 a.m. local time (4:08 a.m. Moscow time) in northwest China's Gansu.
from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center of the province. The launcher placed the Dier-5 research spacecraft and the Siwan-5-2 satellite into their designated orbits. The launch was considered a complete success.
The Kuaizhou-11 rocket, developed by China's state-owned ExPace company, can send up to one ton of cargo into sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 700 kilometers. The diameter of the missile casing is 2.65 meters.
This launch was the fourth for the Kuazhou-11 launch vehicle and the 37th for the entire Kuazhou series, the first of which was carried out in September 2013. These types of missiles are mainly intended for commercial launches.
