The decay of international law and the decline in the efficiency of the United Nations (UN) must be countered by reforming this world organization, Kazakhstan's President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev has stated.
"It is with great pain that we must note the disintegration of international law, its replacement by certain rules and, of course, the decline in the authority and effectiveness of multilateral institutions, first of all, the United Nations Organization.
Without restoring the strategic balance and building a just world order, international stability and security, this can only remain rhetoric and good wishes in negotiations and decisions in multilateral forums.
Therefore, Kazakhstan is in favor of reforming the United Nations," Tokayev said at the peace forum held in Ashgabat.
