The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel summoned Ukraine's ambassador to Tel Aviv Yevgeny Korniychuk, reports Ynet.

The call was due to the critical statements made by the Ukrainian diplomat towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who spoke about his negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Yuval Fox, the deputy director general of Israel's foreign ministry, told Korniychuk that his words were "completely unacceptable" and violated diplomatic protocol.
