Moldova has received another batch of military aid from NATO within the framework of the Defense Capability Development Initiative (DCBI), the press service of the Ministry of Defense reports.
According to the agency, the cargo includes personal protective equipment, including helmets and hazmat protective clothing, as well as medical mannequins, computer equipment, vehicles and furniture. The cost and quantity of this equipment have not been disclosed.
In 2025, the Moldovan government adopted a new military strategy, which envisages an increase in military spending to 1% of GDP, as well as a 30% increase in the number of armed forces to 8,500 soldiers and 2,000 civilians.
The document also talks about rearmament and transition to EU and NATO military readiness standards, as well as strengthening military cooperation with Ukraine.
