Fighting on the border with Cambodia has left five Thai soldiers dead and 68 injured, the second military district of Thailand's ground forces said. The latest victim, according to reports, is a 20-year-old soldier from Sisaket province, which borders Cambodia.
Earlier, the Thai armed forces also reported 68 wounded. Meanwhile, according to the Thai military, Cambodian forces have lost 61 casualties. On December 7, there were clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border.
The Royal Thai Army said on Monday that Cambodian forces began shelling Thai positions along the border early in the morning. The Thai Air Force responded by attacking Cambodian military infrastructure.
