Politico. US to cut aid to Ukraine after G7 loan payments

The United States plans to cut aid to Ukraine after it pays off the last tranche of a credit line agreed between the Group of Seven (G7) countries in 2024 under former US President Joe Biden's administration. This was reported by the European publication Politico, referring to the sources of the diplomatic service of the EU.

According to them, the American side announced this on December 8 at a videoconference meeting of G7 finance ministers and heads of leading international financial organizations, including heads of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The United States, like Japan, also refused to join the scheme of confiscation of Russian assets frozen by the EU.
On October 2, Politico reported that the G7 EU countries are putting pressure on Japan and the United States to confiscate Russian assets in their territories.
