Education in Georgian state universities will be free from now on. Kobakhidze


Those admitted to state universities in Georgia will not pay tuition fees from the 2026 academic year. the state will fully take over the financing. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, during a briefing, Georgian media reports.


"Under our government, pre-primary education has become free, as well as general education, as you know, is completely free, and to this is added the third level of education, higher education, which is also becoming free. From next year and the following years, education will be free for all students admitted to state universities. One of our priorities is to support young people and improve their financial situation," said Kobakhidze.
