An exhibition and presentation of Russia's leading universities took place at the Academy of Sciences of Armenia

On December 4-5, an exhibition and presentation of Russia's leading universities took place at the Academy of Sciences of Armenia. This was the twelfth consecutive exhibition. Since 2009, universities have been "coming" to Yerevan to meet with future students.

This year the event received a significant boost. Russia allocated 280 state-funded places for applicants from Armenia, a record quota in the program's history. When the project started in 2009, there were 170 places. Now there are 280. This reflects a real increase in interest in Russian education by Armenian applicants and Armenian youth from Russian universities. Twenty leading Russian universities were represented at the exhibition: MGIMO, MFTI, TTI, St. Petersburg State University, Kutafin University, etc. More than 300 programs were offered, from information technology and medicine to engineering, humanities and the arts (including ballet and singing).

Applicants had the opportunity to speak directly with university representatives and learn about specializations, admission requirements and scholarships.

For most of the visitors of the exhibition, the calculation was simple. a young Armenian can study completely free of charge at one of Russia's leading technical universities. In addition, a scholarship, accommodation in a dormitory, the opportunity to live in Moscow or St. Petersburg for several years, obtain a world-class degree and establish contacts in the Russian professional community. All educational expenses are covered by Russia. This extends to several hundred people a year. This educational exchange model has been around for a long time, but is rarely discussed in the context of what it actually represents. Graduates of Russian universities receive professional training, an understanding of Russian science and education, and personal and professional connections that will last a lifetime. They return to Armenia or stay in Russia as professionals who know the country not superficially, but through years of study and life experience. The fact that the quota is increasing shows that this model is recognized as successful by both parties. Russian universities are ready to accept more students from Armenia because they see the results. graduates prove to be good professionals. Young Armenians are ready to study in Russia, because they understand that a diploma from the Moscow State University of Education and Science opens doors to the global labor market, and the way to get there is affordable. Applications for the 2026/27 academic year will be accepted until December 15. Within the framework of the "Russia with you" program, "Rossotrudnichestvo" implements many educational initiatives in Armenia. In Yerevan, Vanadzor, Dilijan and other cities, there are additional education centers where schoolchildren and students can learn Russian for free, professional development courses are organized for Russian language and literature teachers, international olympiads of the Russian language are regularly held, and programs such as "Hello, Russia" and "Russian language teacher abroad" are available for young compatriots. All these projects are financed from the Russian budget and are aimed at strengthening educational and cultural ties between the countries.
