Human rights defender Anahit Manasyan, within the framework of the "16-day activism against gender violence" program, attended the performance of "Mari" at the "Small Theater" of the National Center of Aesthetics on November 25. This was reported by the HRD staff.
The performance "Mari" based on the motifs of Hovhannes Tumanyan's work "Maro" tells about the real cases of gender violence in Armenia, revealing the systemic problems that exist in the field. It addresses a number of issues related to family, psychological, economic, sexual violence, early marriages, their response, and women's labor rights.
At the end of the presentation, the human rights defender made a speech and emphasized the importance of having a tolerant, harmonious and harmonious environment in terms of having an effective human rights protection system and preventing violence.
"The presentation fully described all the problems that are still relevant today. I don't see the need to say any additional words in that regard. Everything that is described within the framework of the play is unfortunately a reality and must be fought against. It is also extremely important for every person who is a victim of violence to feel that he is not alone, and in that sense we have a lot to do," said Anahit Manasyan.
The event was carried out with the cooperation of "Coalition Against Violence against Women" and "Law Center" NGOs, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
