The Netherlands has announced that aid to Ukraine depends on the fight against corruption

The fight against corruption in Ukraine is one of the conditions for providing aid to the country, Dutch Finance Minister Eelko Heinen said on Thursday, commenting on the Ukrainian corruption scandals.

Politico, citing an unnamed former adviser to the Ukrainian government, reported that corruption scandals could negatively affect Kiev's support for the West.

"The fight against corruption is a continuous effort that Ukraine must undertake. And I am in dialogue with them about the need to fight corruption.

And this is also part of the conditions that we put forward for the aid packages allocated to Ukraine," Heinen told reporters before the meeting of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council in Brussels.
