The Central Department of the Criminal Police received operational information that a man who committed lewd acts against a minor in the United States is hiding in Armenia.
The US citizen was wanted as early as 2024 on the charge of committing a crime under a number of articles of the criminal code of the state of Texas. On August 5 of this year, US law enforcement officials announced an international search for the man.
The officers of the Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, actively cooperating with the regional security service of the US Embassy, set out to find the wanted person. The last hiding place of the wanted person was found out, and the officers of the Shirak Marz Department of the Criminal Police were also involved in the search.
On November 5, the wanted person was found and arrested in one of the houses on Sundukyan Street in Gyumri.
Interpol and the Prosecutor's Office were informed about his discovery.
