U.S. representatives will not participate in the "Group of Twenty" (G20) summit to be held in Johannesburg at the end of this month, which will be chaired by South Africa, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social.
Trump called the summit of the Republic of South Africa shameful, drawing attention to the situation related to the protection of the rights of white people.
"No representative of the US government will go there as long as these human rights violations continue. I look forward to the G20 in Miami (Florida) in 2026," the US president wrote on November 7.
At the beginning of September, Trump announced that he will miss the G20 summit scheduled for November 22-23 in South Africa. The American leader clarified that the US delegation at the summit will be headed by Vice President J.D. Vance.
In a private meeting in Washington in May, Trump virtually sparred with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa over the rights of white South Africans, saying the issue needed to be resolved.
Otherwise, the US president believes, "it will be the end of the country," that is, of South Africa.
