"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"There has been tension in the corridors of the National Assembly in recent days. A number of MPs of the ruling "Civil Agreement" faction openly or covertly express their displeasure with RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan. The Chairman of the Finance, Credit and Budgetary Affairs Committee, Tsovinar Vardanyan, demanded in front of the cameras that the prosecutor personally appear in the National Assembly and present the execution of the budget of the prosecutor's office.
And the only person who tried to defend Anna Vardapetyan and justify her absence was Vladimir Vardanyan, the chairman of the State Legal Affairs Committee. The latter mentioned that if the discussion refers to financial issues, then it is logical that the person in charge of that field from the prosecutor's office should present the report. However, as they say behind the scenes of the parliament, this is only a visible part of the tension.
Official circles have complained about Vardapetyan's behavior for a long time, stressing that he is "arrogant and proud", communicates little with government officials and maintains direct contact exclusively with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Against this background, the contradiction becomes more prominent in the parliament that the heads of other power structures, without avoiding, appear in the National Assembly with reports and reports, while the general secretary appeared in the National Assembly instead of the prosecutor. The attitude of the prosecutor to maintain an institutional distance from the political field is unacceptable in the team, and this internal contradiction, at the intersection of systemic and personal perceptions, deepens even more. However, it seems that Vardapetyan is not even concerned about this situation.
Every time he comes to the National Assembly, these conversations become active again, but the prosecutor demonstrably avoids informal contacts with members of the CP. He doesn't even drink water or coffee with them."
