According to Reuters and a number of other sources, a group of Turks in Montenegro stabbed a man who tried to protect his girlfriend from their harassment late Saturday night. Angry locals took to the streets chanting "Death to the Turks". On Sunday, cars with Turkish license plates were damaged, and some Turkish citizens were forced to lock themselves in the casino due to the threat of mob attack. In the same evening, one of the Turkish restaurants in the center of Podgorica was smashed.
The police reported that two suspects, one Turk and one Azerbaijani, were arrested in connection with the stabbing, as well as another 45 Turks and Azerbaijanis who were in the country without legal residence documents. Today, Montenegro temporarily suspended the visa-free entry regime for Turkish citizens. President Yakov Milatovich called for calm while condemning the attacks against the Turks. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, in turn, demanded that the Montenegrin authorities ensure the security and rights of Turkish citizens.
And now about us. If the Turks and Azerbaijanis set foot in Armenia, such incidents will not only be possible, but also inevitable. But, in contrast to Montenegro, which does not border Turkey, the current authorities of Armenia will not dare to massively arrest illegal Turks and Azerbaijanis, frightened by the possible force threats of Ankara and Baku.
At least have a little sense, fools who promote "open borders" with Turkey and Azerbaijan. For a small and strategically vulnerable country like Armenia, the free flow of people from enemy states is not a manifestation of "peace", but a mortal wound of national security. The current pro-Turkish policy, if not stopped, may one day turn into state suicide.
