US Vice President J.D. Vance joked that he felt like a character from the movie "Home Alone" during President Donald Trump's visit to China.
"On days like this, I sometimes feel like Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone." I get to the White House and there is complete silence, there is no one there, and I don't immediately understand what happened," he said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Vance clarified that he does not accompany Trump on foreign trips due to Secret Service security protocols.
Trump is on a state visit to China on May 13-15. His talks with the Chinese leader took place on Thursday. A state dinner is expected later, and the two leaders will have a working lunch on Friday.
