Erdogan discussed prisoner exchange in the Ukrainian conflict with Putin in Kazan

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan discussed with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at talks in Kazan the issues of restoring the grain corridor, the exchange of prisoners in the Ukrainian conflict and demining the Black Sea.
“In addition to the issues of restoring the Black Sea grain corridor and demining, during our meeting with Mr. Putin and his delegation, we also saw that there are expectations regarding the exchange of prisoners. We are currently closely monitoring the steps on the exchange of prisoners and will continue to do everything possible to resolve the existing problems through diplomatic means,” Erdogan told reporters from his pool upon returning from Kazan, where he participated in the BRICS summit. His words were quoted by Anadolu Agency. “We want peace negotiations between the two countries to begin as soon as possible, and we want to pave the way for achieving a favorable outcome. We will continue to work tirelessly to achieve this goal,” the president added.
