The Pentagon sent Washington to about 800 servicemen of the US National Guard to fight the crime in the city.
"Approximately 800 (National Guard) soldiers have been set up to the District of Colombia (another name of Washington) to make a working group, approximately 100-200 of which are supported by law enforcement officers," said the official website of the Pentagon.
It is noted that their responsibilities include administrative and logistical functions, as well as the physical presence to support law enforcement agencies.
The Pentagon's head of Pentagon Pit Hegs said that the additional national guard and other special forces are going to send as reinforcement.
