As of July 1 of this year, Armenia's permanent population was 3 million 84.4 thousand people. This was reported by the RA Statistical Committee.
Compared to the previous year, the population increased by 26.6 thousand. The country's urban population is 1 million 974.8 thousand, the rural is 1 million 109.6 thousand people.
About 1/3 of the population (1 million 143.3 thousand people) is in Yerevan. Kotayk has the most popular in the regions (294.9 thousand), the least, Vayots Dzor (49.4 thousand).
There are 71 communities in Armenia: 1003 settlements, 49 cities, 954 villages.
