The Bulgarian authorities have closed about 20 km from the Maritsa Highway, which leads to the border with Turkey, and the Captain's Andreevo checkpoint due to a large fire in Harmanli. This was reported by TASS, citing the press center of the Hrovo Region Administration.
The publication shows that the fire spread on about 2,000 hectares. Fire repayment participated not only for emergency services and volunteers, but also a helicopter of Bulgarian Air Force and two specialized Swedish fire planes.
According to the agency, there is no immediate threat to the settlements near the place of emergency. However, the state of emergency is maintained there.
