Lisbon Municipality can be fined 738,000 euros to send data to Russian authorities

The South-Central Administrative Court of Portugal has decided to reject the Protesters of the Lisbon City in 2021 in the case of transferring the personal data of protesters in the capital of the Republic, Diário de Notícias.

The city authorities have previously appealed the penalty of 1.25 million euros assigned to the Portuguese National Commission for Protection. This amount was later reduced to 738,000 euros due to several violations due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
According to the court decision, the respondent's appeal was recognized as "completely unfounded." It states that the Lisbon authorities "acted freely, deliberately and consciously."

According to the newspaper, it is not yet known whether the municipality will again appeal the court's decision again.
