South Africa is not ready to provide special access to the United States to rare metals

The Minister of Mineral Africa and Oil Resources Gvedé Mantashen opposed the special conditions of cooperation with the United States in the development of rare metals and other important minerals at the expense of the rest of the national mining industry.

"We do not need a strategy to supply the most important minerals in the United States. We need a strategy for everyone, "Bloomberg quotes his words.

Earlier, a number of South African companies, which are engaged in rare metals and the most important minerals, offered the country's government to provide special access to this type of resource.

Southern Africa has some of the largest reserves for rare land metals and scientific technologies. For example, in South Africa, 88% of the world's staff of platinum, manganese, 80% and 72% of chromite.
