Former PVS head David Sanasaryan addressed his Facebook page to Catholicos Garegin II and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, calling them to meet and talk without mediators.
"Excluding the third force. Call Catholicos and Prime Minister "Dear Compatriots, The military defeat of 2020 was not limited to the borders, it opened deep and dangerous cracks inside the state. Cracks, which turned into a political split, the polarization of public hatred and distrust, the pillars of society and statehood. These cracks are widely widening day by day, undermining the foundations of our statehood. Tensions between the segments of the society have reached a dangerous point, and the hostile atmosphere formed between key state institutions has already turned into a real security threat. There is no minimum agreement in the political field for the existence of the country and an independent future.
Moreover, the escalation of relations between the Government and the Armenian Apostolic Church has crossed borders, which are not acceptable within the state. Given both inside and increasing instability in the region, we need urgent, weighty steps aimed at overcoming tensions and prevent collisions. It is with this consciousness, I am applying for Catholicos Garegin II and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Advisors, it's time to meet and direct without intermediaries. But if there is a complexity or necessity of the meeting, I am ready to take charge of the mediator as one of the stages of this conflict, but it cannot be followed and waiting for the security of Armenia, which will bring in the irreversible conditions. As long as their mission did not obliged the third forces and did not offer temporarily peacekeepers between our government and our Church, or until temporarily handed over our government and our Church, it was necessary to rush to run the law of excluding the third force.
As a political and public figure, I have been calling for restraint and peace since the beginning of this conflict. I have not participated in the skirmishes and have not speculated the tension of the situation. I suggest separate meetings with both sides, and then, jointly discussion, overcoming internal tensions in Armenia and establishing constructive dialogue. My proposal is not a political platform. It will be a unique opportunity for state responsibility to start the beginning of a national national civilized talk.
This is not just a meeting of two people or structures. This is the first step of national unity to become a dangerous path to us from which they will not vow to use foreign strangers. We don't have time. The crisis will not be resolved. If we can't sit at a table and talk to each other, we will lose more than we can imagine now. I'm going to leave the details of the meeting with both sides. "
