RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received today the director of Lusine Sargsyan, director of the UN Population Fund (IAEA). Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan took part in the meeting.
Welcoming the guest and congratulating the director, Zhanna Andreasyan expressed confidence that its activities will contribute to the development of effective and close cooperation with the UNHCR.
During the meeting, the possibilities of expanding cooperation with the Ministry of Education will be discussed within the framework of the forthcoming programs of the IAEA. The Minister stressed the importance of EU support for a number of initiatives, in particular, the development of the RA Law on Youth Policy, testing, implementing a state-education of public education, and improving a healthy lifestyle teaching.
It has been noted that since 2020, the Ministry of Education Partners (UNESCO, UNICEF, PHR) has been coordinated within the framework of the State Criminal of General Education within 2020. In particular, the support was directed by the multidisciplinary expert program to the development of a healthy lifestyle program and teacher manuals, testing the state standard of general education in Tavush region, including the organization of teacher training and teacher monitoring. The foundation also carried out training of about 100 mentors selected on a competitive basis, which worked for the development of various grades and manuals.
Expressing gratitude for the efforts and work done, Zhanna Andreasyan stressed the importance of developing professional skills in the organization of training courses within the framework of the "Healthy Lifestyle".
The director of the UN Office Lusine Sargsyan stressed the importance of cooperation at different levels of education, emphasizing the implementation of programs aimed at developing joint capabilities with Armenian universities.
It was noted that a memorandum of cooperation was signed with Yerevan State University, within the framework of which the research capacity of the demographic center of the university is planned.
Highlighting the cooperation with higher education institutions, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan suggested that the possibility of presenting programs in modular format and further introducing them to other universities. In this context, the need for methodological manuals for university staff was also emphasized.
During the meeting the parties also touched upon a number of other issues of mutual interest.
