Slovakia, at the EU Ambassadors' meeting, has again blocked the adoption of a new sanctions package against Russia. This was reported by Euronews, citing sources.
Earlier, last week TASR news agency reported that Slovakia, in Brussels, has blocked new sanctions on Russia and will continue consultations on energy resources with the European Commission.
"Slovakia has confirmed that Veto's right to the new EU sanctions on Russia will continue to hold a veto during a meeting of ambassadors to Brussels, where the sanctions have been imposed again," the statement said.
Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Syyarto had blocked the adoption of the 18th package of anti-Russian sanctions by the EU, as Brussels wants to bypass its own rules and banned Budapest and Bratislava to buy Russian oil and gas.
Before the EU summit, the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fisco said that Slovakia would not vote in favor of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia on Froors.
