For the first time in 14 years, the Greek authorities have begun to reject the asylum appeals of Syrian citizens, Proto Topic reports.
"A few days ago, the first negative decisions about applicants from Syria were made taking into account their escape causes and personal characteristics.
"Greece, thus, becomes the second EU member state, after Cyprus, which begins to make negative decisions about Syrian citizens," the newspaper quotes Greece's immigration and shelter Tanos Plrez.
As it became known, the head of the Asyl Service sent an internal instruction to the department's employees in late June. In addition, the International Migration Organization informed the Ministry's services that resumes the voluntary return procedure in Syria.
