Erdogan commented on the tension between Russia and Azerbaijan

Turkey is closely following the tensions between Azerbaijan and Russia, calls on restraint, said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he had discussed this issue with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

"Turkey has deep diplomatic and strategic relations with both Azerbaijan and Russia. We follow the tension closely and call on the two countries to show restraint. We believe that the problem will be solved simpler and more reasonable through statements that will reduce diplomatic tensions.

I hope that negative developments in the relations between the two countries will end as soon as possible. We really want the unfortunate events to be irreversible to relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, "the Turkish leader told reporters on the plane after returning from Azerbaijan.
