Trump Applies to the US Supreme Court to eliminate temporary status of migrants

US President Donald Trump administration has appealed to the Supreme Court, trying to eliminate the programs that are providing temporary legal status to migrants during Joe Biden. This refers to about 530,000 Venezuelan, Cuban, Haitian and Nicaraguian migrants, who now live in the United States.  The name of "Parole", this program allowed migrants to temporarily reside and work in the United States on humanitarian grounds. Trump signed a decree on January 2025 about its termination, and in March the process was launched to reduce the two years "Parole" given to migrants.

The Boston Federal Court blocked the widespread elimination of the program, claiming that each case should be assessed individually. However, the Trump administration claims that this "hinders the legitimate immigration policy". "The administration is trying to punish people who are fulfilling all the requirements of the law," said Karen Tamli, director of the Justice Action Center.

Trump argues that the cancellation of status will facilitate the process of these migrants, rapid deportation, but human rights activists claim to one hundred thousand people immediately and incapacitates. The Supreme Court has given the parties to the parties until May 15, Reuters reports.
