Qatar has asked the United States to supply missiles and drones, The New York Times (NYT) reported, citing sources.
According to the NYT, the Persian Gulf countries have noticed a shortage of missiles shortly after the start of US operations against Iran. The newspaper notes that Qatari authorities and the US Central Command (CENTCOM) declined to comment on the request.
Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegsett previously stated in an interview with CBS that the United States is "more than ready" and "plans" to supply missiles to allies in the Middle East. He added that the US has more ammunition in its arsenal than would be necessary during a military campaign in Iran.
