Does Grigoryan at least know how much more expensive rice is than wheat?

Two out of three fingersticks are baked from imported grain. if they want to reduce dependence on imports, they should increase the degree of wheat self-sufficiency. Artur Khachatryan, deputy of the Hayastan faction, wrote about it on his Facebook page.

"The National Assembly of Armenia proposes to switch from wheat to rice. 180,000 tons of grain were produced in Armenia last year, 465,000 tons were imported - 2.5 times more. 386,000 tons were used for food, 117,000 tons were used for livestock. Not a single grain of rice was grown in Armenia, 10,000 tons were imported. During the year, more than 57 times (!!!) more wheat was used than rice.

How does Armen Grigoryan imagine the replacement? Does he understand that he is proposing to change a diet that has been formed over millennia? They probably eat Peking duck with chopsticks and a little bit of rice to show that they are "pradwinut" cosmopolitans.

Armenians eat bread. There are tens of thousands of families in proud Armenia for whom bread is the main food. People do not crave Peking duck, but frozen chicken duck of unknown origin. At least he knows how much rice is more expensive than wheat, what additional financial burden does it place on our compatriots living in unfavorable conditions? He doesn't know. He is full...Armenia is less than 30% self-sufficient in wheat.
More simply, two out of three breadsticks were baked from imported (the absolute majority from Russia) grain. If the authorities of Armenia want to reduce dependence on imports, they should increase the degree of wheat self-sufficiency.

Half of Armenia's arable land is not cultivated. Based on the climatic conditions and the condition of the irrigation system, a significant part of these lands can be grown mainly for grain. Help the villagers to cultivate the uncultivable land, sow bread. I'm not saying plant wheat and barley instead of high-value crops. I am talking about uncultivated lands, I am talking about food security of the country. But hey, the important thing for these is to look original. Hell, they didn't become an object of ridicule," the deputy wrote.
