Iraqi armed Shiite groups within the so-called Islamic Resistance said they had attacked the Israeli-controlled western Golan Heights with drones.
“Continuing our approach to resisting occupation, in support of our people in Palestine and Lebanon, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurper entity against civilians, including children, women and the elderly, fighters of the Islamic Resistance of Iraq on Sunday, October 13 , attacked a military target in the occupied Golan at dawn," the Iraqi factions said in a statement on their Telegram channel. Captured from Syria as a result of the 1967 war, the western part of the Golan Heights was unilaterally annexed by Israel in 1981, but the UN Security Council recognized this decision is invalid.
