The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on its page on the social network X that US forces carried out airstrikes on the morning of Friday, October 11, on a number of camps of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (an organization banned in Russia) in Syria.
“U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted a series of airstrikes against several known ISIS camps in Syria in the early morning hours of October 11,” the text said.
CENTCOM noted that these strikes will prevent the Islamic State from planning, organizing and carrying out attacks against the United States, its allies and partners, as well as civilians throughout the region and beyond. A battle damage assessment is currently underway.
