The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan condemned the resolutions of the Parliament of the Netherlands calling for the release of the representatives of the former leadership of Nagorno-Karabakh and the statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Caspar Veldkamp. Aykhan Hajizade called them biased. "It is unacceptable to call them prisoners of war," said the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry.
Hajizadeh also stated that, allegedly, the Dutch government is distorting Baku's goals of an attack on Nagorno Karabakh in 2023. He accused Amsterdam of allegedly pursuing a policy of double standards. Hajizade also called the accusations directed at Baku for destroying the Armenian cultural heritage unacceptable.
"We call on the Dutch side to abandon its unilateral position, which contradicts peace in the region and creates tension in the relations between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands," said the spokesperson of Azerbaijan's foreign policy department.
