The US admitted that Russia is winning in Ukraine

The Russian President has reason to believe that Russia is winning in Ukraine, so in the current conditions there is no point in increasing the intensity of the conflict. The American newspaper Hill writes about this.

“Putin does not want escalation because he believes, not without some justification, that Russia is winning the war at its current pace and would not gain any benefit from pushing it into a new, more dangerous phase,” the publication said.

In the newspaper's assessment of the situation on the battlefield, Putin, after the failure of the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive, "has demonstrated that he is unwilling to upset what he sees as a favorable military status quo." Escalatory steps, in Moscow’s opinion, on the part of the Russian Federation could weaken Russia’s position, the publication believes.

Prior to this, Bundestag deputy from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party Matthias Moosdorf, in an appeal to the German government, stated that NATO would become a direct participant in the conflict in Ukraine if the West allowed the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fire long-range Western weapons deep into the Russian Federation.
