The magnetic storm has ended on Earth

The intense magnetic storm that lasted on Earth for almost a day has ended, said Mikhail Leus, leading specialist at the Phobos weather center.

Previously, the forecaster reported that a solar flare of maximum level X1.8 occurred around 5:00 Moscow time on Wednesday, October 9. It caused magnetic storms․

“The strong magnetic storm that lasted on Earth for almost a day has ended. Currently, the geomagnetic field fluctuates in the range from an unstable state to the level of weak disturbances,” Leus wrote in his Telegram channel.

The specialist noted that during the coming days, isolated short periods of weak magnetic storms are still possible, but the bulk of solar matter has passed the Earth.
