Biden told Scholz his intention to continue providing military assistance to Kyiv

US President Joe Biden, in a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Thursday, noted that he intends to continue providing military assistance to Ukraine. This is stated in a statement released by the White House press service.

As it follows, the American leader “emphasized the strength of relations between the United States and Germany.” He also “noted the intention to continue close cooperation on geopolitical priorities, including support for the defense of Ukraine.” An official representative of the German government previously said that Scholz and Biden discussed the US President’s decision to postpone the visit to Germany in a telephone conversation. On October 8, Biden decided to postpone a trip to Germany and Angola scheduled for October 10-15 due to Hurricane Milton approaching the United States. Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that pumping Ukraine with Western weapons will not weaken Moscow’s resolve and will not change the course of the special military operation.
