The monument to Montebello's genocide was submitted to include a list of historical monuments

An application has been submitted to include the Montebello Genocide monument among historical monuments.

"The Armenian Legislative Association of California informs that a letter bearing the signature of 36 of its members has been sent to the State Historical Resources Commission, requesting that the Montepollo monument dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide be placed on the list of state monuments in California.

It is emphasized in the letter that the monument, reminiscent of the dome of the Armenian church and built in a modern style, has been a place to commemorate the victims of the Armenian Genocide since 1968, adding that it will be the first monument of the Armenian Genocide built on a public area.

To read the letter, visit the website.

It should be noted that the number of members of the Armenian Legislative Association of California has recently reached 50 and its new leader is the member of the California Parliament, Chan Hayrapetian.
