Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan Seyyed Jafar Agha Marian was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is reported by the press service of the department, writes Media az.
During the meeting, a strong protest was expressed to the Iranian side regarding the insulting statements made against Azerbaijan and our head of state, which were made on December 29 in Ardabil at the event with the participation of the Supreme Leader's representative.
At the same time, displeasure was expressed regarding the recent serious inflaming of anti-Azerbaijani sentiments among the population in Iran.
It was brought to the attention of the representative of Iran that the anti-Azerbaijani propaganda in Iran does not correspond to the spirit of bilateral relations, the goals and tasks set before the countries. It was noted that such actions are aimed at sowing hatred and enmity, rather than maintaining and deepening bilateral interstate and interpersonal relations.
