Chinese scientists have created the world's first unmanned aerial vehicle that can be launched from a submarine and can both float underwater and fly, the South China Morning Post writes.
"Due to the unique design of the folding wing, the drone can move between water and air several times during the flight, which significantly improves its camouflage and survivability," the scientists said in the work cited by the publication.
The wings fold in 5 seconds in the water and fit tightly to the fuselage, which greatly reduces water resistance, and special propellers ensure movement under water.
