Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expects to meet with the newly elected US President Donald Trump soon. This was announced by the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister's office, Gergely Gulyas, on the eve of the inauguration of the 47th US president.
"Viktor Orbán is a longtime ally of Donald Trump, and a meeting between Trump and Orbán will definitely take place in the foreseeable future," Gilas said in a Facebook statement.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Prime Minister, Bertalan Havasi, announced that Orban will not participate in Trump's inauguration in the US capital.
On January 20, he is scheduled to speak in Budapest at a conference dedicated to the results of Hungary's presidency in the EU Council in the second half of 2024. Thus, Havashi denied speculations that the prime minister could go to the US for the inauguration of the new president.
