President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 23 people who committed extremist crimes. This was reported by the press service of the head of Belarus, TASS reports.
"This decision was taken based on the principles of humanism, the pardoned are given the opportunity to return to normal life," the statement says.
All of them wrote petitions for forgiveness, admitted their guilt and repented. Amnesty was granted to 3 women and 20 men, including 13 people over 50 years old, 14 people with chronic diseases, 12 children. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will "ensure control over their law-abiding behavior."
