Ambassador of Iran. The agreement with Russia will determine the relations between the two countries for 20 years

The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and Iran will determine cooperation between the countries in various fields for at least 20 years, said Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali in an interview with TASS.

"This agreement is the legal and conceptual basis for relations between Iran and Russia, which defines the interaction between the two countries in all aspects of relations for at least the next two decades," he said.

"In the modern world, which is rapidly developing and promotes humanitarian and commodity exchange between countries, we need to make the legal framework as broad and comprehensive as possible, and this document can cover all aspects of relations and lay the foundation for the conclusion: dozens of other executive agreements, especially in the economic, trade, energy, monetary, banking and investment sectors, the ambassador added.
"It's really a road map and a driving force for moving the relationship forward."

Currently, the states are guided by the provisions of the 2001 Treaty on the Basics of Relations and Principles of Cooperation between Russia and Iran, which was signed for a period of 10 years and automatically extended for another five years.
