Nikol Pashinyan continues to surprise and anger historians with his knowledge of Armenian history.
Nikol Pashinyan recently posted on his Facebook page about the territories of Western and Eastern Armenia.
Thus, according to him, "Western Azerbaijan is Kazakh, Tovuz, Gedabay, Kelbajar, Kubatlu, and Zangelan. There is no other West Azerbaijan if they want it looking for a place, we can consider Nakhichevan as Western Azerbaijan.
Western Armenia is Armavir, Talin, Maralik. there is no and cannot be Western Armenia outside of this.
Eastern Armenia is Ijevan, Berd, Chambarak, Vardenis, Jermuk, Goris, Kapan, Nerkin Hand, and Narnadzor. There is no and cannot be Eastern Armenia beyond this."
According to Amatuni Virabyan, the former director of the National Archives of Armenia, doctor of historical sciences, Nikol Pashinyan's attempts to distort Armenian history are meant to distract the nation from the main problems it is facing today.
"After reading Nikol Pashinyan's post, I found myself in a really bad situation morally. In other words, one person can make decisions on behalf of the entire Armenian nation. to decide the dissolution of the Minsk Group, to decide that Western Armenia did not exist at all, while in 387 the first division of Armenia took place between Western and Eastern Armenia. One person stops and says there is no Western Armenia, or there is only Eastern Armenia, the history of Armenia should be the history of Armenia," Amatuni Virabyan said in a conversation with 168.am.
In this context, the historian noted that the "Peace Treaty", which Nikol Pashinyan always talks about, will be the fulfillment of all Azerbaijan's wishes.
"For this man, the main agenda is the formulation of relations with Azerbaijan, he is gradually taking these steps. One of the last wishes of Azerbaijan is the dissolution of the Minsk Group, which Nikol Pashinyan is making a reality," Amatuni Virabyan added.
To the question, if Nikol Pashinyan has adopted such a policy of distorting history, does he not see the danger that all historians will one day simply be forced to rewrite the history of the entire Armenians, Amatuni Virabyan answered:
"We will never take such a step, I am sure that there will not be any historian who has a scientific title, I know them, they will never do such a thing. I repeat, I rule it out," Amatoni Virabyan emphasized.
