NYT. Iran has not bowed to Trump's pressure on the deal

US President Donald Trump's campaign to put pressure on Iran has not been able to significantly change Tehran's position on the peace agreement with Washington, reports The New York Times.

As the newspaper notes, the aforementioned campaign "does not seem to have caused any fundamental change in the position on Iran's nuclear program."

On May 23, the US president announced that the draft of the future agreement with Iran was generally agreed upon. He said that he had a telephone conversation with the leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey and discussed with them the draft memorandum of understanding within the framework of the peace agreement with Iran. Later, the US president clarified that the US and Iran have not yet reached final agreements on a number of issues.
