Denmark confirmed its willingness to dialogue with Trump on Arctic territories

The Danish government has confirmed its willingness to dialogue with the new US administration regarding the Arctic territories. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen announced this at a press conference held in Jerusalem.

"The Americans have some concerns about the security situation in the Arctic, which is shared by the Danish side," Reuters quoted the kingdom's foreign minister as saying.

"Therefore, Denmark, in close cooperation with Greenland, is ready to continue negotiations with the US President-elect Donald Trump in order to ensure the legitimate interests of the American side," the minister said.

On January 7, Trump announced that Greenland should become part of the United States to protect itself from Chinese and Russian threats.
