The certificate of temporary protection must be presented simultaneously with the passport with code 070

It is necessary to replace temporary protection (refugee) certificates with new ones. This is reported by the Migration and Citizenship Service.

"If you are going to cross the border in the coming days or months, it is necessary to be consistent with the terms of the travel documents. Persons who have received temporary protection/refugee status must present the temporary protection certificate at the same time as the passport with code 070 when crossing the border in the direction of exit from RA. We urge you to submit an application for the exchange of a certificate in advance by approaching any territorial division of the ICS.

It should be reminded that the validity period of the previously issued certificates was December 31, 2024. In order to submit an application for the exchange of a JP certificate, you can be served in a live queue format by drawing a ticket on the spot. And if the person who received temporary protection is abroad, he can apply to the RA consulate in his country of residence.

It should also be reminded that the presence of a passport certificate is not mandatory when crossing the RA border in the direction of entry. If a person has changed his passport after receiving the temporary protection certificate (due to loss, expiration, or damage), he must apply for a new certificate, because the temporary protection certificate provided on the basis of a valid passport.

According to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated October 17, 2024 No. 1649, in the event that the validity period of the certificate has expired, the person who received temporary protection continues to remain under the temporary protection of the Republic of Armenia for one more year (until December 31, 2025).
